Where Do We Meet?
Primarily, we will meet virtually via Zoom.
As needed, I also am available, upon agreed scheduling, to consult with you in an in-person environment that feels safest for you, realizing some people do not like to go to unknown or new places.
Can I Bring My Children To My Appointment?
I love children in my practice! However, I can only accommodate your child during his/her scheduled appointment. If you are scheduled for an appointment with me, please arrange childcare so that our time together during your appointment is uninterrupted. This helps me give you my full attention. Thank you for your understanding.
What Should I Expect At My Initial Consultation?
We’ll talk about your goals for care and your main health concerns. Next, I’ll take a comprehensive health history. I will also ask you a variety of questions, not only about your physical complaints, but about all aspects of your life. Think of our time together as a gentle, confidential conversation that assists me as I get to know and understand you, and how best to address your health concerns. I will then recommend a remedy specifically tailored to your priorities.
An initial constitutional care homeopathic consultation for adults generally takes 90 minutes to 2 hours. For a child, the visit usually takes 1 hour. If you need to break-up the initial consultation into two sessions, there is no extra charge. For children, the visit may involve playtime and observation as I interview with mom and/or dad about the child’s health and social history.
The follow-up consultation typically lasts 45-60 minutes. Follow-up visits also begin with a conversation where we discuss the effects of your remedy and will focus on progress and changes in your condition, as well as any new concerns.
What About Confidentiality?
During your initial intake and follow-up appointments, personal information about your health will be discussed. Be assured that all information shared in any or all appointments will be kept in strict professional confidence in accordance with all medical ethical guidelines.
What Should I Expect After I Take My Remedy?
After taking a remedy, reactions vary with each person. Using a classical homeopathic approach of “minimum dose,” a remedy is given to gently stimulate your body’s own natural healing response to encourage a gentle return to good health.
Generally there is an increased sense of well-being and optimism as symptoms begin to improve. On occasion, some find their symptoms may intensify for a short period, followed by improvement thereafter.
The remedies often result in immediate beneficial effects for acute conditions. For chronic, or long-term complaints, you may need several visits to establish well-being. As your health improves, consultations will be spaced further apart.
Can I Continue My Current Medications AND Use Homeopathy?
Yes. Professionally selected homeopathic remedies can be used safely in conjunction with conventional medications. At your initial appointment, we’ll discuss medications you currently use. Please do not attempt to reduce your medication without discussion and supervision from your doctor or health care provider.
What Is Expected of Me?
Our work together is a two-way process. Your openness in reporting symptoms initially, as well as your follow-up feedback alerting me of changes you’re experiencing helps me best track your needs and progress. This information informs most of what I use for remedy selection.
Also, I may at times ask you to jot down certain symptoms or changes between appointments.
When Will I Feel Better?
This is a question that only your body can ultimately answer. Homeopathy is a process and we will work together to resolve your concerns, but I don’t offer timelines because I can’t.
Your individual needs determine how often, and for how long, you will need to receive care. As your condition improves and your symptoms are alleviated, the frequency of your appointments will be determined by you and how you’re feeling.
A General Timeline: For acute ailments such as coughs, colds and other first-aid situations, I expect improvement starting from hours to 1-3 days. You may need a few remedies during acute care, but we will know quickly which remedy is working best for you.
For chronic or longstanding conditions, I recommend committing to 4 visits which covers roughly 4-5 months of care. You may need more or less, but I will always work with a plan of care that you are most comfortable with personally and financially.
While you will often notice an initial response fairly quickly, full resolution may take time. The length of care depends on many factors such as the nature of your concern, whether acute or chronic, medical history, and other factors that have created the imbalance.
Does My Medical Insurance Cover Homeopathic care?
Currently, U.S. medical insurance plans do not cover homeopathic care. If you have an HSA option through your employer, you may be able to use your funds. Please check with your administrator to verify.
